This new resource for Paper 2 Section A can be used alongside the AO3 teaching for the AQA Literature Power and Conflict poem, ‘Checking Out Me History’. It looks at two perspectives to Nelson’s career and legacy across 200 years, whilst preparing candidates for responses for Language Paper 2. This resource works well as part of a set of internal PPE assessments, part of a wider unit of work that develops approaches to Language Paper 2 or to set as a revision, home learning or cover work resource.

This resource can be added to the unit of work that examines otherness of Victorian monsters. It would be suitable for mixed attainment groups, especially those who enjoy the Gothic genre. It supports readings of Jekyll and Hyde, Dracula and Wuthering Heights. The resource can be added as a lesson’s work on a unit plan and develops candidates familiarity with AQA Language Paper 1 format and questions. It could also be assigned for independent extended practice, such as home learning, revision or cover work.
